'12/13 Week 18 Day 2

Another successful and fun day. Our math and Language Art lessons were great, but we had most fun in our history class. I decided to dwell a bit longer on the Ancient Greeks. We watched a short video on the Mycenaeans that perfecly complemented information on them in Andrew's history book. And, of course, we talked again about the Greek gods and goddesses and how they 'contributed' to Homer's "Iliad". Another video/cartoon the kids loved was about the Trojan Horse. At the end of the school day we built our own Trojan Horse model.

I found a nice page of all the main Greek (Roman) deities on-line.

For our spelling practice, Andrew hung the letters up to form words.

In Science, Saara learned that 2/3s of the planet Earth is covered by water. Andrew learned that 2/3s of the human body consists of water.

My cousin sent the kids some workbooks in Estonian and they loved digging into them. We started with the letter 'A', of course.
